Ordained in 2006, Rabbi Paul Shleffar is the Founder and Director of the Center for Contemporary Jewish Spirituality (www.cfcjs.org). Author of Kol Elimelech: Chasidic Wisdom for Our Time, he is a dedicated student and respected teacher of traditional Jewish texts with emphasis on the Chasidic and Jewish mystical traditions. Rabbi Shleffar’s work includes scholarly writing and translating of texts focusing on spirituality; he is currently working on his next book on the topic of Suffering and Growth. He is a requested pastoral and spiritual counselor and certified teacher of Jewish meditation.
Rabbi Shleffar serves as an officer of the Board of Rabbis of Northern California. Prior to his rabbinical studies, Rabbi Shleffar had a distinguished career serving the people of Northern California as a firefighter and medic, earning distinctions for his leadership.
